One week have passed and Shivansh is out of danger according to the doctors. Although when he will be out of coma, they don't have any idea about. Pratap has assigned the best doctors from every part of the country to take care of his son. Meanwhile, Abhinav has released an official announcement on the Royal website stating what happened to the King. Because the media is like always making up their own stories regarding Shivansh's accident.
Shivansh has been shifted to a VIP ward with permanent bodyguards assigned outside the room. Even the doctors have to show their face and ID whenever they go inside. Because everyone in the family knows that this time is very crucial for them as the King himself is bedridden. Any of their enemies may try to harm him because if he is out of their path then they will have the upper hand in everything.
Jivika always stays the day with Shivansh and talks with him about numerous things because the doctor has told her that a coma patient can understand whatever someone tells them. However it depends on their senses how much they can understand or even understand a bit.
Adwait who wasn't in the town during the time of the accident had come back the day next day. He couldn't believe what he heard but when he met Jivika, he knew that everything about his best friend was true. Devastated would be a simple word to describe what he felt because Shivansh isn't just his best friend, he is more than that. He is Adwait's mentor who guided him when he wanted to start his own business. He is Adwait's savior who saved him from the hands of the bullies who used to taunt calling him an illegitimate child. He is the protective brother Adwait never knew he needed in his life.
Currently, everyone in the palace is feeling anxious except Jivika and Ritika. Jivika because she doesn't know exactly what's going on and Ritika because she doesn't care what other things about her.
"Riti, do I need to be worried about the person coming here?" Jivika asks Ritika who is combing her hair.
"Not at all. Because this time I will be here if they dare to say anything bad to you." Ritika replies tying her hair in a ponytail.
"I know that but why is Maa looking so tensed? She looks like she is carrying the weight of something very heavy." Jivika remarks thinking about her mother-in-law who has been stuttering out of nervousness since the morning after getting a call where it's stated that some relatives are coming to the palace.
"Because the person who is coming with her family is known as Massi Dadi, the younger sister of our late Dadi." Ritika answers while Jivika looks more confused.
"Then she is a family member so why the need to be scared of her?" Jivika asks.
"That's the problem, Jivi. That old woman doesn't think like that. She only cares about Dadu, Tauji and Papa. She is too old-minded that I feel like bashing her head in the wall. Whenever she comes here, she always insults Mumma and Taiji which I hate. Mumma tells me to keep quiet but this time if that old bitch says anything against any of my family members I will kill her for sure." Ritika remarks to which Jivika bites her lips feeling anxious to meet this Maasi Dadi because if she can insult her two mother-in-laws then she can insult her too. But the thing is, she doesn't know if she will be able to handle any insult anymore.
"Rani Sa, Ritika Didi, the guests have arrived." One of the maids informs while Ritika rolls her eyes already getting frustrated meanwhile Jivika starts thinking if she should meet them or not.
But finally both of them walk out of Ritika's room and start coming down the stairs while discussing about Shivansh's condition. Ritika has decided to share everything with Jivika because like her older brother, she too doesn't want to keep anything hidden from her best friend.
"Ab kya chai banani bhi nahi aati hain kya is mehel ke naukro ko?" They hear a woman's voice making both of them to look at each other with a sigh already guessing the drama that is going to create.
(Don't the servants of this palace even know how to make tea anymore?)
"Maasi Ji, hum banake laate hain." Radhika says but the old woman shows her palm stopping her.
(Maasi Ji, I will make it and bring it.)
"Ager achchi chai pilani hi hoti na to pehle hi pila dete. Humein bolke samjhane ki zarurat nahi padti." The old woman snaps making Ritika to clench her fists in anger.
(If you wanted to serve good tea, you would have served it before. I wouldn't have to tell you to understand.)
"Kaamini, itne din baad yaha aayi ho. Kaho achanak kaise aana hua?" Raghuvendra asks politely just to change the topic because this woman is the only one who is still alive from his late wife's side of the family. Although he doesn't like her a bit but as the former King, he is just being polite towards her.
(Kaamini, you have come here after a long time. Tell me how come you have come here suddenly?)
"Jijaji, ab aap humein bhul gaye hain to kya hua par hum apni Didi ke sasural ko nahi bhule hain. Aapke ghar mein shaadi bhi ho gayi par humein nyota nahi bheja aapne ya humare bhanjo ne." Kaamini replies arrogantly.
(Jijaji, what if you have forgot me but I haven't forgot my older sister's house. A marriage took place here but neither you nor my nephews sent me an invitation.)
"Maasi, the marriage was done in a hurry so we couldn't invite everyone." Pratap replies but his aunt only scoffs in response.
"You don't have to give me any excuses, Pratap. After the death of my Didi, you guys thought that you could do whatever you want and no one would stop you. But till I am alive I can't let the believes of my Didi to die down. I have heard about what happened to Shivansh and that's why I have come here to meet his wife. Where is she by the way?" The old woman remarks while everyone's eyes widen because they don't want Jivika to get insulted again by someone. Also, this time Shivansh is also not here to take care of her so it's the family members' duty to keep their Jivu safe.
"Maasi Ji, why don't you take some rest and then I will introduce you to Shivansh's wife?" Aaradhya asks hoping for a positive answer but instead receives a glare in response.
"I don't like to repeat my words. Also, why should I listen to you? Who are you even to tell me what to do?" Kaamini asks back Aaradhya making Jivika to feel like something has snapped inside her. By looking at her mother-in-law getting insulted she feels like she is seeing the way her grandma used to behave with her without any valid reason.
"Raj Mata hain woh is mahal ki aur meri saas bhi." Jivika replies standing beside her mother-in-law who looks at her with some unknown emotions in her eyes.
(She is the Raj Mata of this palace as well as my mother-in-law.)
"Oh, so you're the wife of Shivansh? But you don't look like a Queen though. Also you don't even know how to greet someone properly." The old woman remarks thinking that she will finally take her revenge from the family for belittling her family for a small mistake of her older sister.
"A person is judged by their behavior not by their face. Also, you're the guests here so you should stay within your limit, Maasi Dadi." Jivika replies not breaking eye contact with the old woman who gets up from the couch with anger written all over her face.
"How dare you to talk to me in this manner? Do you know who am I? Do you know the place I hold in this palace? This is my older sister's palace so my right here is bigger than you. Now I know why Shivansh has gotten into the accident. It's because of your bad luck that he is lying in the hospital bed. This type of thing never happened to him before but now that he has married a bad omen like you his life is in danger." The old woman spats which makes Jivika to feel like someone has stabbed her directly in the heart. She has been called nad luck, bad omen before but the hurt she is feeling now it's totally different because she is being accused that her husband is in this condition because of her.
"Maasi!"
"Maasi Dadi!"
Pratap and Ritika shout making the old woman's eyes widen but soon she composes herself. She has come here with a mission and she won't leave before completing that.
"Today you're blaming Jivika for Shivansh's accident. Then why don't you praise her for the millions-worthy contracts that Shivansh has signed after their marriage? Why don't you praise her for the way she has been looking after the family despite her own pain of seeing her husband fighting for his life? Remember, when you point one finger at someone the remaining four fingers are going to be pointed towards yourself." Pratap replies silencing the older woman who is now gritting her teeth.
"Pratap Bhaiya, you can't talk to my mother like that. She is just saying what she believes. You can't force your thoughts on her." The old woman's son tells Pratap who glares at him.
"But your mother can force her thoughts on others. Sorry to tell you but in our family, we don't force anyone for anything. May be my Dadi used to do that but now things have changed. So, you should tell your mother to be quiet instead of making us realize our mistakes." Ritika remarks making the man gulp seeing the anger on her face.
"Maasi Ji, aap kamre mein chaliye. Aap itni dur se safar karke aayi hain to aap thak gayi hongi." Aaradhya says but the old woman again ignores her and says something in response that leaves Jivika shocked.
(Maasi Ji, let's go to the room. You have traveled such a long distance, you must be tired.)
"Aisi meethi meethi baatein karke hi to humare bhanje ko apne vash mein kiya hain na aapne? Warna aap jaisi ek mamuli ladki ke paas kya hi tha jisse humara bhanja aapko pasand karta aur aapko dusri biwi bana leta?" The old woman asks looking at Aaradhya with disgust while Aaradhya closes her eyes feeling ashamed hearing such words again after so many years.
(You won over my nephew with these sweet talks of yours, right? Otherwise what did an ordinary girl like you have that would make my nephew to make you his second wife?)
Jivika looks at every one of her family members to see if she has heard something wrong or not but seeing the anger and hatred in their faces, she is confirmed that indeed the old woman's few words are true. She then looks at her mother-in-law who is standing with her head held low which doesn't settle well with her. The woman who loves her, care for her like a mother is crying just because of someone who doesn't even know how to behave like a human being. She won't keep quiet this time because now the time has come to show some people why Mahadev has chosen her as the Rani Sa.
Jivika turns around and walks toward the woman with a very calm poster making the woman thinking what she is going to do. Jivika then stands in front of the old woman and joins her palms together making the woman smirk wickedly thinking that finally she is going to have her revenge but...
"Humare desh mein ek kahawat hain 'Atithi Devo Bhava', jiska matlab yeh hota hain ki Atithi bhagwan swaroop hote hain. Lekin main yeh maanti hu ki jab insaan khudko sach mein bhagwan sochne lagta hain tabhi usme bhagwan ki jagah shaitan aa jata hain. To shaitan ko zyada der tak ghar mein nahi rukna chahiye warna hum jaise mamuli insaan bhi shaitan banne par majbur ho jate hain." Jivika says with confidence dripping from each of her words while the old woman is unable to hold eye contact with her.
(There is saying in our country, 'Atithi Devo Bhava' which means the guests are incarnations of God. But I believe that when a person really starts thinking of himself as God, then instead of God Satan comes into his body. So, Satan should not stay inside the house for long. Otherwise, simple human beings like us will be forced to become a Satan too.)
